Investing & Financial
Planning
Since I am a Financial Planner I guess I should be interested in
investing and Financial Planning.... and I am. I love my work and helping
my clients make the right decisions for their financial future. If you are
looking for a hot stock tip, I don't have one. I don't do hot stocks.
Hot stocks are for gamblers. I concentrate on long term building of wealth
and then managing it once you have it. The real key to investing is
diversification. When I was running my CPA practice several years back I
thought I knew plenty about investing. Now that I specialize in investing
and financial planning, I realize how little I really knew. If you are
interested in building wealth for retirement, or maintaining that wealth during

Certified Public Accounting
Before I stared specializing in financial planning and investing, I
owned a successful CPA practice. I maintain my CPA license
and continuing education as it helps me stay abreast of the latest tax laws and
retirement planning rules. This gives me an edge over other financial
planners when helping my clients.
Yea, like you really want to be bored with CPA stuff....... I could discuss the pros and cons of depreciating your house as a home office...... ok, but I won't.
Hunting
Bow hunting is my favorite. It is one of the most challenging sports. A
friend once told me that bow hunting is 1 step up from putting a knife between
your teeth and trying to jump out of a tree onto a deer's back and killing it
with the knife. (My success at bow hunting so far proves this insight to be
fairly accurate!!) I also enjoy dove hunting. Especially since you can't start
'till noon. The only thing I really hate about deer hunting is getting up
before daybreak. Here lately, I have gotten into turkey hunting.
It's a lot of fun as you get to move around a little, trying to call in a
turkey. I hope to also do some duck hunting this year.
Pistol Shooting
I have started shooting competitively in the IDPA (International Defensive
Pistol Association) shoots at the Tennessee Sports Foundation Shooting Range. I
normally shoot a Glock 17 9MM. I also sometimes shoot my Hecker & Koch USP .40 S&W. In the last classification match I stepped
up from a Marksman to SharpShooter. The shoots are a lot of fun. Check out the

Computers & Web Surfing
After spending all day at the office on a computer, you would think I had
enough of computers. But, no, the first thing I do when I get home is get on
the computer to check my email. It's fascinating that you can find out almost
anything you want to know on the web. I also enjoy creating, updating
and working on websites. Having a son-in-law who designs websites for a living
helps. He gets me started and shows me lots of website design stuff.
Beer
OK, my wife would claim this is interest #1, and maybe she is right.
Favorites are Natural Light since it is so cheap, Killian's, Corona, Fosters,
Warthog & Kokanee (Canadian beers), Red Dog, Red Wolf and Michelob Light. To be honest, I
like almost all beers except Samuel Adams.... that stuff is nasty.
